PORDENONE – The presentation of the public urban regeneration and redevelopment works being built by 2026 took place at the Pordenone Fair. Presenting the quick overview of over 80 works were the mayor Alessandro Ciriani, the deputy mayor Alberto Parigi, the councilors Lidia Diomede, Mattia Tirelli, Giuseppe Verdichizzi and Walter De Bortoli.

Among those present were the prefect Natalino Domenico Manno, the police commissioner Giuseppe Solimene, political and military authorities, councilors and city councilors, as well as numerous stakeholders, professionals and representatives of the cultural, social, sporting and voluntary organizations of our city .

«This is an initiative – explains Mayor Ciriani – aimed at presenting a “changing city”. For many months the public debate was polarized exclusively on the fate of around forty trees, completely forgetting that Pordenone intercepted as many as 180 million euros to be allocated to new schools, sports facilities, social structures, roads and production plants. In short, ours is an evolving city, full of real projects supported by equally real funding.

Consider that yesterday the Veneto Region, which has almost 5 million inhabitants, presented the three-year plan for public works, which amounts to 233 million euros. Well Pordenone, a city of 50 thousand inhabitants, has a 180 million plan. I think everyone can make their own considerations.”

During the evening, projects relating to the redevelopment and reconstruction of many of the city’s primary schools were presented, such as Narvesa, Beato Odorico, Grigoletti with its new canteen, the Lozer secondary school and the new Torre nursery school.

The project of the former brewery, which will host the ITS Alto Adriatico high school, of the Gino Valle Center which will host the university. And then the renovation of the Torre senior center, the redevelopment of Casa Serena and the construction of the new retirement home in Villanova.

And again, sports and recreational centers such as Polo Young, connected to the green area adjacent to the San Valentino park, with multipurpose and inclusive surfaces, football pitches and green areas for the centers of via Pontinia and Largo Cervignano, the arrangement of the lake at the Querini park, the creation of an ecological corridor at Cimolai Park and numerous cycle paths throughout the city and along the Noncello.

There are many historic buildings that will be renovated: from the former barracks in via Molinari, to the ruins of the station which will become a study and reception room, from the parapet of Piazza XX Settembre, to the loggia of the Town Hall and its pinnacles, from the Calle degli Andadori to the park Mura Antiche museum, from the former Battirame to the new headquarters of the Local Police and the former Superintendency.

Attention also to the multimedia project in Piazza della Motta and the new public lighting throughout the city, in addition to the many car parks, the construction of the Borgomeduna square, the cultural pavilion at the Study Centre, the redevelopment of roads and pavements, with asphalting of the city streets.

Finally, roundabouts and slip roads to support the current road network, as well as the connection to the sewage system. In short, many works and many construction sites for a more beautiful, functional and modern city.

The councilor for urban planning Lidia Diomede underlines: «We have already started with various construction sites of PNRR works and others will start shortly. Alongside them, we are proceeding with the extraordinary maintenance work of asphalting the roads, for which we will proceed in batches.

In recent years, due to the increase in prices of materials, we were forced to stop but now that the prices of raw materials have dropped, we are finally proceeding with the resurfacing of the road surfaces throughout the city.

They will be two intense years for both the Administration and the citizens, but the realization of all these important works will allow Pordenone to grow in services, usability, safety for everyone, from children to the elderly, with a great sporting, cultural and entertainment offer. free time, through a regeneration that has never been seen before.”
