The students of the 5th class – Mechanical industry of ISIS Bernocchi participate in the “I4Lab@school-edizione Weld” projecttraining activity on welding practices organized by Asse4 – Business Network which uses the Weld VR Simulator Center.
The instrumentationset up by an external trainer in the school’s CNC laboratory, it allows you to work in an immersive virtual reality, a highly professionalizing experience conducted in total safety.
The training proposal is in continuity with Bernocchi’s vocation for technological innovation and collaboration with local businesses, and with the usual attention to the opportunities offered by the working environment. The initiative was born from a study conducted by Assolavoro Datalab, the Observatory of the National Association of Employment Agencies, from which it emerges that the figure of the professional welder is one of the most requested on the market and one of the most difficult to find. Hence the idea of a course aimed at acquiring specific professional skills relating to welding, usable in companies in the metalworking sector and continuous treatment processes.
The experience consists of a week of work at school with the Weld VR Simulator, which thanks to the motion detection system, the graphic interface and the use of welding torches allows you to move in a highly realistic virtual environment. The system is able to detect the dexterity parameters of the students and monitor their progress, allows for risk-free operations and reduces gas and metal waste emissions. In addition to the days in the laboratory, there is a course on safety and in-person union teaching, plus hours of training and technical preparation in FAD mode.
At the end of the course, participants receive a certificate of participation, as well as having the opportunity to obtain the TS4W Skills Certification – Talent Skills for Work. The most deserving will also be able to participate in the Welding Championship, intended for students from all over Italy who participate in the project.
