Serie B1 Women, Pantaleo Fasano away to Marsala

In the second leg comes the big match for a place in the promotion play-offs

MARSALA (TP) – The final rush of the regular season starts from Sicily with the fearsome trip to the field of Gesancom Marsala, direct competitor for that last place in the sun in the trio of teams that will access the promotion play-offs.

The calendar marks the eleventh return with the away match against a team that only a week ago, in Teramo, suffered a resounding and surprising defeat; a result that has relaunched coach Paolo Totero’s yellow-blue team in the standings, now 5 points ahead of the Sicilian team.

“Going to play in Marsala is very complicated. We will face a very strong roster, built to seek the final victory, but which has suffered ups and downs during the season like all the teams in this group E. We know that their defeat in Teramo is just an accident of path and which takes nothing away from their real value and the beautiful path they are trying to complete. As far as we’re concerned, the week went smoothly with the total recovery of the entire roster in anticipation of a match that could be decisive for the top positions in the rankings.”

In the first leg at the “Salvemini” in Fasano the Sicilians won with a clear 3-0 at the end of one of the worst matches played by the Fasano yellow-blues. The winner was a roster trained by coach Francesco Campisi and made up of a group of players of absolute value such as Mariachiara Norgini, Simona Galiero, Barbara Varaldo, Alice Gasparroni and Giorgia Silotto: athletes of absolute value capable of winning against any opponent, especially if faced within the walls of your home.

Complicated match, therefore, for Valentina Barbolini and her teammates who, after the internal walk against Crotone Volleyball, have to immerse themselves in the technical and logistical difficulties of a very complicated and decisive match for a season finale that promises to be anything but easy.

The starting whistle is set for 5.30pm today on the parquet of the Palasport San Carlo in Marsala with the match direction entrusted to Andrea Bonzanni and Clarissa Cassone.
