Right to housing: new call for social housing
Descriptive text here

Right to housing. The Region strengthens its commitment to providing answers to the more fragile bands of the population, increasingly struggling to find answers on the private market and, more generally, to a growing demand for living, in a highly attractive area for study, work and tourism reasons.

An example, only the latest in chronological order, is the announcement Social Housing 2023 which will close on March 29th. Aimed at housing cooperatives and construction companies, it makes available 7 million euros to create housing to be rented, assigned for permanent use or for a minimum period of 10 years. Rent-controlled accommodation for the so-called gray band, those families with an ISEE indicator of up to 35 thousand euros, who cannot access public housing. And to be achieved through urban regeneration interventions, without land consumption, and with innovative features as regards forms of management, capable of encouraging sharing and social practices.

Taking stock today in Bologna was the councilor for territorial planning, construction and housing policies, Barbara Lorion the occasion of the conference Strategies for living, responses to old fragilities and new complexitieswith which the Region has called together Municipalities, Provinces, Metropolitan City of Bologna, Anci and Aceras well as regional representatives of Ance, Confcooperative Habitat, Legacoop, Sunia, Asppi, Confabitare.

“We are witnessing an increasingly pressing, particularly diversified and segmented housing demand – explained Lori -. The transformations of family structures, the new forms of work, the transformation of tourist and university cities, require new responses to new needs and critical issues, also in terms of emerging poverty. Within this framework, collaboration with local authorities and sector operators is fundamental.”

From the Covenant for the house: 4.6 million euros to increase the supply of rented accommodation at controlled rent, with benefits for both owners and tenants. To the commitment on the front ofPublic housing, thanks to 30 million euros of regional resources which from 2020 to 2023 made it possible to requalify and reassign almost 1,400 public housing units. To the 38 million of refinancing the Rental fund to make a contribution to families in difficulty in meeting the rent costs in the same period.

Lori underlined the Region’s action on housing, but it is needed, she underlined: “A renewed commitment from the Government starting from an organic Housing Plan, which I hope can also consider regional experiences, which this country urgently needs , together with the restoration of the Fund for rent and that for innocent arrears”.
