Maria Rosaria Omaggio, the actress with many roles on television, in the theater and in the cinema, has died at the age of 67. Born in Naples but resident for years in Rome, she had been ill for some time.
THE BEGINNINGS – Became popular in 1973 with a participation in Very nice song at just 17 years old (she had lied about her age saying she was of age). Her film debut was in Rome a mano armata e Anti-theft team, alongside Maurizio Merli and Tomas Milian. For her social commitment in 2005 she was named Unicef Goodwill Ambassador.
THE MOST FAMOUS ROLE – It was Oriana Fallaci in the film Wales, the man of hope by Polish director Andrzej Wajda, a role for which he received the Pasinetti Award at the Venice Film Festival. But there are over 50 titles performed on stage by Omaggio, as well as 29 films and 18 dramas. Maria Rosaria Omaggio has also appeared several times in the Italian edition of the magazine Playboy.
