Beloved in Italy but above all abroad, where they are considered real stars, the three guys from Il Volo have been on the crest of the wave for the past 15 years. Ignazio Boschetto, Gianluca Ginoble and Piero Barone took part in the latest edition of the Sanremo Festival and, even if they didn’t repeat the success of 2015 with Grande Amore, their Capolavoro is doing great, and is widely played on the radio.

A career, that of the trio, began by chance, when the three, separately, decided to still teenagers participate in Ti lascio una canzone, a program hosted by Antonella Clerici. It was the director of the show, Roberto Cenci, who understood their potential, deciding to have them perform as a group during the show.

Their skill did not go unnoticed by Tony Renis, who after taking them under his wing, immediately introduced them to Jimmy Iovine, owner of Geffen Records, the stars and stripes major. From that moment Il Volo has never stopped, and not only the three singers they had the honor of opening the concerts of a sacred monster like Barbra Streisandbut they began their career live, with almost always sold-out dates.

Il Volo, a challenge that had been waiting for Ignazio, Gianluca and Piero for fifteen years

Il Volo’s repertoire has always been composed of great classics of Italian music, such as Granada or O sole mio. After 15 years, however, the artists they felt the need to change and try something completely different for them compared to the past. They themselves explained it, with a video published on their official Instagram profile.

“Finally after 15 years we had the need to record an album entirely of unreleased songs” Boschetto began to explain. “I believe that an artist’s need is also to send an authentic message and what reaches the public is, I believe, a certain authenticity” Ginoble added, “Show, in addition to your voice, your inner message, what you feel, what you are and what you have become over time”.

“After 15 years of career, therefore, we felt this need to show that in addition to our voices we have profound messages to send” the artist then concluded. Tomorrow 29 March, Ad Astra will be released in all physical and digital stores, Il volo’s first completely unreleased album. An unmissable event for all fans of the three tenors, who in addition to Capolavoro will be able to listen to 10 other tracks of which only one cover.
