In the last seven days, 186 new cases of Covid-19 have been registered in Tuscany: 88 confirmed with a molecular swab and the other 98 with a rapid test.

The number of infected people detected in the region since the beginning of the pandemic therefore rises to 1,654,550. To date, 378 are still positive. The number of recoveries increased by 0.01% (141 people) and reached 1,641,661 (99.2% of total cases).

To date, 56 people are hospitalized (4 more than the previous week, up 7.7%), of which 4 (1 more, up 33.3%) are in intensive care. 322 are in isolation at home because they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital treatment or are symptom-free (38 more than the previous week, up 13.4%).

The list of deaths is updated with 3 new deaths: 3 men, with an average age of 86.7 years.

The trend by province

With the latest cases, the number of positive cases since the beginning of the emergency in the municipalities of the metropolitan city of Florence rises to 441,972 (90 more than the previous week), 107,138 in the province of Prato (4 more), 128,113 in Pistoia (11 more ), 86,867 in Massa-Carrara (12 more), 180,116 in Lucca (15 more), 194,554 in Pisa (9 more), 152,885 in Livorno (11 more), 149,603 in Arezzo (17 more), 118,765 in Siena (13 more) and 92,933 in Grosseto (4 more). To these must be added 571 positive cases notified in Tuscany but which concern residents in other regions.

Tuscany has approximately 45,182 overall cases per 100,000 inhabitants since the start of the pandemic (among residents and non-residents). At the moment the notification province with the highest rate is Lucca (with 47,128 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants), followed by Livorno (46,810) and Pisa (46,637). The lowest concentration is found in Prato (with a rate of 41,327).

The deaths

The list of deaths is updated with 3 new deaths: 3 men, with an average age of 86.7 years.

Regarding the province of residence, the deceased people are: 1 in Pistoia, 2 in Livorno.

12,511 have died since the beginning of the epidemic: 3,924 in the metropolitan city of Florence, 990 in the province of Prato, 1,139 in Pistoia, 750 in Massa-Carrara, 1,118 in Lucca, 1,416 in Pisa, 941 in Livorno, 814 in Arezzo, 732 in Siena, 473 in Grosseto. We must add 214 people who died on Tuscan soil but were residents outside the region.

The crude mortality rate for Covid-19 (number of deaths/resident population) is currently 341.6 per 100 thousand residents. As regards the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa-Carrara (399.8 per 100 thousand inhabitants), followed by Florence (397.1 x100,000) and Pistoia (393.1 x100,000), while the lowest is in Grosseto (218.3 x100,000).
