Republic Day: Doctor Stabile is a Knight

CREMONA – He has just returned from the humanitarian mission in Paraguay, the sixteenth since 2012. The first in Togo, then Benin, Zambia. Sixteen plus one: two years ago, the trip to war-ravaged Ukraine with a vehicle loaded with medical equipment and drugs destined for the Sumy hospital. Where there is a need, he runs. On and off planes to correct malformation pathologies. It is humanitarian plastic surgery under the aegis of the AICPand, the non-profit organization he founded and of which he was president from 2015 to 2022.

Marco Stabile63 years old, born and raised in Cremona, director of the Plastic Surgery Operational Unit of the Piacenza Ausl, now also senior consultant in Plastic Surgery, today, June 2nd, he received the honor of ‘Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic’ from the prefect Corrado Conforto Galli. Not just humanitarian missions. During the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, Stabile had an intuition: the use of heparin which saved thousands of people around the world.

The first unofficial letter regarding the honor was received by the doctor last March. He didn’t expect it. However, the official one signed by the prefect Conforto Galli dates back to May 24th. “I am pleased to invite you to the award ceremony…”.These are things that make you feel proud of your work and certainly make you very honored and happy. A privilege. Thanks to everyone who supported me to make this happen, from family to friends,” comments Stabile.
