In the last seven days, 63 new cases of Covid-19 have been registered in Tuscany: 31 confirmed with a molecular swab and the other 32 with a rapid test.

The number of infected people detected in the region since the beginning of the pandemic therefore rises to 1,654,015. To date, 220 are still positive. The number of recoveries increased by 0.00% (67 people) and reached 1,641,292 (99.2% of total cases).

To date, 28 people are hospitalized (7 more than the previous week, up 33.3%), of which 2 (1 more, up 100%) are in intensive care. 192 are in isolation at home because they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital treatment or are symptom-free (11 fewer than the previous week, 5.4% less).

No new deaths have been recorded in the last week.

The trend by province

With the latest cases, the number of positive cases since the beginning of the emergency rises to 441,724 in the municipalities of the metropolitan city of Florence (26 more than the previous week), 107,130 in the province of Prato (1 more), 128,091 in Pistoia (1 more ), 86,849 in Massa Carrara (1 more), 180,084 in Lucca (2 more), 194,516 in Pisa (11 more), 152,857 in Livorno (4 more), 149,541 in Arezzo (10 more), 118,714 in Siena (5 more) and 92,911 in Grosseto (1 more). To these must be added 571 positive cases notified in Tuscany but which concern residents in other regions.

Tuscany has approximately 45,167 overall cases per 100,000 inhabitants since the start of the pandemic (among residents and non-residents). At the moment the notification province with the highest rate is Lucca (with 47,120 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants), followed by Livorno (46,802) and Pisa (46,628). The lowest concentration is found in Prato (with a rate of 41,324).

The deaths

No new deaths have been recorded in the last week.

This leaves 12,503 deaths since the beginning of the epidemic: 3,923 in the metropolitan city of Florence, 988 in the province of Prato, 1,137 in Pistoia, 750 in Massa Carrara, 1,118 in Lucca, 1,415 in Pisa, 939 in Livorno, 814 in Arezzo, 732 in Siena, 473 in Grosseto. We must add 214 people who died on Tuscan soil but were residents outside the region.

The crude mortality rate for Covid-19 (number of deaths/resident population) is currently 341.4 per 100 thousand residents. As regards the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa Carrara (399.8 per 100 thousand inhabitants), followed by Florence (397.0 x100,000) and Pistoia (392.4 x100,000), while the lowest is in Grosseto (218.3 x100,000).
