The actor said: “I was in England and I got a text saying the prince wanted to meet me. I thought, ‘What?!’, and then I said, ‘Of course.’ We met in a room, we were alone. He came over, we shook hands and the first thing he said was, ‘You know, my mum really liked you.'”

Diana’s admiration for Kevin came not only from his films, but also from the fact that they had met in person. It was Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, who introduced them. Kevin Costner also revealed to People that he and Diana had discussed the possibility of collaborating on a sequel to The Bodyguard.
“There was a moment where we talked about it seriously, but very privately. That’s how I usually work. It was all very nice, thanks in large part to Sarah who made it happen. The Duchess was very kind actually because she could have said, ‘Well, I’m a royal too. Why don’t you ask me?’ But she didn’t. Then Diana and I started talking about it,” Kevin said.
