Pippo Baudo hasn’t worked on TV for a few years now and, apparently, he’s going through a moment of objective difficulty.
The last television appearance of Pippo Baudo dates back to October 2021, when he appeared as a special guest on Dancing with the Stars as a dancer for one night. Since then, despite never having clearly expressed his intention to retire, he has not appeared on television. Which is a bit shocking, given that Pippo Baudo’s face has been that of the presenter par excellence for decades. So Baudo has already spent almost three years away from the small screen.
The Italian presenter was certainly a little disappointed by RAI: for years he asked to be granted a program, reiterating that he could still give something in terms of experience and desire to the company. But from the upper levels they had already decided that Baudo had outlived his time and it was better to rely on fresher faces.
But why did he stop participating in RAI programs even as a guest? Apparently, the presenter had to eventually abandon any desire to return to hosting due to his advancing age and, probably, because of a serious illness. According to some sources, in fact, Pippo Baudo would be in trouble due to an illness that forces him to undergo specific and rather heavy treatments.
Pippo Baudo: revelations about his difficult state
Even though there has never been an official announcement from the company or the presenter, Pippo Baudo can be considered retired. Not too long ago, the singer Orietta Berti wanted to comment on the situation, explaining how the legendary presenter of many Sanremo Festivals is living the season of his retirement.
According to the Italian singer, Baudo would be heard uncomfortable, and not only for forced rest but also for economic reasons. The singer has in fact revealed that Pippo Baudo would only receive 900 euros per month as his pension check: the reference is so precise because it would correspond to the exact same amount received by Berti herself.
We can still consider Berti a reliable source, since she is a long-time friend of Baudo. Despite the figure, which may seem objectively low for such a famous person, one should not think that Baudo is going through a financial crisis. The presenter, presumably, is continuing to live a comfortable life, and this is thanks to savings accumulated during his long career (over the years he has been rewarded with billion-dollar contracts).
