The clash between Fedez’s company and Jacobs, the athlete risks being prosecuted for defamation

A few weeks before the start of the Olympics, the dispute between Fedez and Marcell Jacobs risks ending up in court.

As Corriere della Sera reconstructs, Doom Entertainment, a company co-founded by Fedez and managed by his mother, Annamaria Berrinzaghi, has sued the Olympic champion, who he could end up on trial for aggravated defamation.

The issue exploded in the summer of 2021, when Jacobs won the gold medal in the hundred meter dash and with the Italian 4 by 100 relay team. It was precisely Doom that managed Jacobs’ image at the time.

However, he was not at all happy with the work done by Fedez and his companions: the sprinter therefore decided to terminate the contract and Doom srl started a civil case against him. And when Jacobs openly accused Fedez’s company in an interview with La Stampa, Doom sued him for aggravated defamation. «In 2018 I entrusted myself to Fedez’s company, I expected that being close to him would give visibility but they never developed a project there», Jacobs said. «I won in Tokyo and they wrote to me 24 hours later. They were at the seaside and they didn’t care».

The Brescia Prosecutor’s Office, writes the Milanese newspaper, has filed the notice of conclusion of the investigations which generally preludes the request for indictment.
