WHAT IS THAT’ – The long wait is over: Kate Middleton has reappeared in public seven months after the announcement of the tumor and after a sensational succession of rumors, fake and real sightings. To do this, she chose a special occasion, namely the Trooping the Colour, one of the most important royal events of the year. Since the 18th century, the military parade has celebrated the sovereign’s official birthday with great pomp, regardless of the actual date of his birth (Charles was born on 14 November). The month of June was chosen hoping for the leniency of the unpredictable British weather, which however often brings rain and wind. THE KING IN A CARRIAGE – As announced, King Charles participates in the event, not on horseback as he proudly did last year, but in the Ascot Landau carriage together with Camilla and above all the highly anticipated Kate Middleton, who appears on the balcony with her three children George, Charlotte and Louis. The princess, acclaimed by the thousands of people waiting for her, appeared very thin but smiling and chose a bon ton look in total white for the occasion. White is a symbol of purity and rebirth, the princess hopes to be able to be present at other public engagements this summer, but the priority remains, obviously, complete recovery. THE BALCONY – At 2pm the traditional gathering of the royal family is held on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, where only working royals, the family members who work for the sovereign, are admitted. Absent as expected were Harry and Meghan, not invited. Carlo is with Camilla, William who after a long time will have Kate at his side. In the days preceding the parade there was hope for a possible appearance by the Princess of Wales, who is suffering from cancer, and the hope will become reality. The subjects filled the streets and the Mall to witness the ceremony and greet the royals. Even if the anti-monarchists of Republic, led by founder Graham Smith, also gathered in front of Buckingham Palace. At the end of the parade, the flight and the evolutions of the Red Arrows, (the equivalent of our Frecce Tricolori, but with the insignia of the Royal Air Force): Kate, William and the three little princes all stood with their noses in the air.
