“Our new headquarters is a place of meeting and innovation, created to encourage collaboration and continuous discussion with all the players in the health system, who, like us, have the ambition to respond to the care needs of all patients. It is precisely here that we have chosen to organize the J&J Week entitled ‘Together towards the medicine of the future’, a week of events and meetings with institutions, clinicians, patient associations, universities and research centres, scheduled from Monday 8th to Friday 12th July, designed to imagine the next evolutions of Italian healthcare” explains Mario Sturion, Managing Director of Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Italia.

The renewal of the company

The decision to create this new hub for Johnson & Johnson is part of a broader renewal plan that the pharmaceutical company is implementing globally, which also includes the new corporate image launched at the end of last year. This transfer also confirms the company’s desire to continue to focus on Italy, as demonstrated by the investment announcement mentioned above.

“The new Johnson & Johnson hub – stated Attilio Fontana – and the renewal path of the pharmaceutical company at a global level demonstrate a great innovative capacity and confirm the desire to continue investing in our country and in our region. Lombardy, with its headquarters in Milan, the territory and its high-quality related industries in the life sciences supply chain, is a candidate to be the nerve center of this process. The regional policies adopted in recent years and the measures to come can only attest to the commitment of the regional government towards a sector in which we excel at a national level and beyond. Lombardy is also an excellence in the European pharmaceutical industry. I am very pleased to have participated, with Global CEO Joaquin Duato, Global CIO Jim Swanson and Managing Director Mario Sturion, in the inauguration of a new headquarters for Johnson & Johnson, a cutting-edge space, an example of sustainability and attention to the well-being of employees and the health of citizens”.

Emanuele Monti commented: “We are pleased that a company like Johnson & Johnson has chosen to invest in Lombardy, not only the largest drug producing region in Europe, but also an international point of reference in the field of innovation and research”. For Alessia Cappello: “The inauguration of the new Johnson & Johnson headquarters in Milan strengthens the city’s position as an international center of excellence in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors. An investment that not only stimulates economic growth and creates new job opportunities, but also increases the global visibility of Milan making it even more attractive for multinationals and talents from all over the world”
