There Fiat Grande Panda it is the most anticipated of this summer. The presentation will take place on July 11th, on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the foundation of the Fiat in Turin by Giovanni Agnelli. The expectations around this vehicle are high, first of all because the Panda – albeit large – is a myth for Italian motoring and a model capable of recording record sales in our territory, something that this fourth generation has the bold task of to continue doing, according to why Stellantis has confidence that this vehicle can give the “shock” to the appeal of low-cost electric cars. Meanwhile, the production start date has been made official: the second half of July in Kragujevac in Serbia, where the Fiat 500L.

A retro design and universal engines

There Fiat Grande Panda has already shown its features in a preview, sparking the curiosity of fans. The opinion towards it is not unanimous, obviously there are groups of people who vote for a five-star rating and others who are just not yet so convinced by the design. Yet, behind those square but compact lines (the length does not exceed 3.99 metres), as well as being modern, lies a drop of charisma from the original Panda, the one that was launched on 29 February 1980.

Built on the multi energy Smart Car platform by Stellantis, will be offered with all possible engines: 100 HP hybrid or 113 HP electric. In this way, the Fiat Grande Panda aims to become a global car, capable of responding to the needs of every type of market. The objective of the board of the Franco-Italian giant is to see its creation colonize every portion of the globe, with friendliness, freshness and quality. All characteristics that undoubtedly reside within this model which will see its initial marketing next July.

The production of the new Fiat Grande Panda

Unlike the Fiat Pandina, the current Panda which will continue to join the Grande Panda in Fiat’s price list for many more years, the new model will not be produced in any Italian factory but, as anticipated, its production line is located in the Kragujevac plant in Serbia . The president of Serbia revealed the timing regarding the industrialization of the latest addition to the Turin brand, Aleksandar Vučić, during a television speech. “July 11th – he has declared – the model that will be produced in Kragujevac will be presented in Italy and in the second half of July, together with Stellantis representatives, I will inaugurate the assembly line“.

For Serbian Prime Minister Vučić, the new Fiat model “it will be a great incentive for the development and progress not only of Kragujevac and the Sumadija region, but also of the whole of Serbia“, because the project “will significantly affect the growth of Gross Domestic Product“. “We will produce an electric car, which is of great importance to us.“, he added, recalling Belgrade’s intention to support the purchase of battery-powered vehicles with incentives equal to 5 thousand euros and to evaluate the possibility of “increase the amount for nationally produced electric vehicles“.
