Fourteenth coming, here’s how much it amounts to and what it has a negative impact on

It’s coming fourteenth monthly payment between June and July. This is an extra sum that is paid, if provided for in the contract, to employees and pensioners with a low amount. Here’s how much it will amount to and when it will be credited.

The fourteenth

The fourteenth month’s salary is one deferred compensation which is paid if provided for in the relevant national collective labor agreement (Ccnl). The amount of the fourteenth accrues each month of work and is paid in a single installment based on deadlines provided for by individual collective agreements. We remind you that the thirteenth salary is mandatory by law for all employees, unlike the fourteenth salary which is not payable to everyone but is regulated by individual national collective labor agreements (Ccnl) or individual contracts.

How much is

The amount of the fourteenth is calculated by adding the individual accruals that the employee accrues for each month of work in the company. Furthermore, if the worker has worked for the entire year of maturation, the total of the fourteenth salary is normally defined as approximately equal to the remuneration scheduled for the month of disbursement. If the collective agreement does not provide for the payment of the fourteenth month’s salary, the company can choose to pay it anyway through a dedicated internal agreement. An example? If the liquidation occurs by June 30th of each year, the amount of the measure will be equal to the June salary.

What has a negative impact?

Those who were hired during the vesting period will get a amount calculated on the basis of months in the company. THE days of absence have a negative impact on the fourteenth salary as the calculation takes into account the months in which the employee was employed by the company, except for absences which do not allow the accrual of the fourteenth salary, an example being unpaid or unjustified absences, suspension of work and of salary, unpaid leave, parental leave and redundancy pay paid directly by INPS.

The measure for pensioners

For the pensioners the fourteenth is designed to economically support those with medium-low incomes. The sum is paid to pensioners aged at least 64 with a total income of up to twice the minimum annual payment of the Employee Fund (from 2017), holders of one or more pension payments from the Mandatory General Insurance and replacement forms, exclusive and exempt from the same, managed by public compulsory social security bodies.

As indicated on the INPS website, based on safeguard clauseif the individual’s total annual income exceeds one and a half or two times the minimum payment but is lower than this limit increased by the additional sum due, the amount of the fourteenth is still paid until the increased limit is reached.

Pensioners who are entitled to the fourteenth will receive it together with the July 2024 pension. Those who meet the requirements after 31 July 2024 will receive the amount in December 2024. The sum varies based on income limits and years of contributions paid, generally fluctuating between 336 and 655 euros.
