Dacia Sandero or Fiat Panda, which costs less at the end of the year? It’s all about the engine

Reading time: 2 minutes

Fiat and Dacia are leaders in the city car sector, but between Panda and Sandero which of the two costs less?

Although the world is moving more and more in the direction of SUV, there is no doubt whatsoever that in the end city cars are the cars that manage to establish themselves most on the market. This can be seen with the striking cases of Fiat and Dacia, two giants that from this point of view have very few rivals on a global level.

The Italian company is dominating the Italian market with the Panda. In this case we are faced with what is most likely the city car par excellence at a national level, with today’s dimensions showing a car measuring 365 cm in length, a width of 164 cm and a height of 155 cm, which allows it to be approved for a total of 4 or 5 seats, based on need.

The engine that mounts the Panda internally it is based on Mild Hybrid technology, with the engine being a 3-cylinder with a displacement of 999 and capable of delivering a maximum of 70 horsepower. Its maximum peak speed is 164 km/h, with consumption being just 5 liters per 100 km. This gives it the opportunity to present itself on the market with a base price of 15.900 euro, but the Sandero?

Dacia Sandero beats the Panda: be careful with LPG though

As regards the basic price, therefore excluding the various offers that can be presented by the various houses, the Dacia Sandero it is the cheapest car in all of Italy. Even after some improvements for his version Streetway, manages to be the only car under 15 thousand euros, starting from 14.800 euro.

However, for this price you must necessarily choose the petrol variant, with the engine being a 3-cylinder with a displacement of 999 and which delivers a maximum of 67 horsepower. The maximum peak speed is 158 km/h, with consumption reaching 5.4 liters per 100 km.

There is no hybrid version, but you can have it with the GPL. In this case, however, it would become more expensive than the Panda, given that it would reach 16,600 euros. However, the engine will be a 3-cylinder with 1199 displacement and 122 horsepower, with a peak of 180 km/h, a decidedly more performing car. Currently the Panda can be purchased with a promo of 9950 euros, which makes it end the year as the cheapest, even if the offer is linked to scrapping and financing.
