Ivrea. Matteo Caccia, cult author of radio and live storytelling (Don’t tell my mom), will be at the Azami Libreria, in via Quattro Martiri 1 in Ivrea, on Wednesday 26th, at 6.30 pm, to present his book “Things that happen while living – There is always something interesting for us in the stories of others”, published by Il Sole 24 ore.

«The best way to ask someone for a story is to tell a story – say the publishers -. This is how Matteo Caccia began to collect people’s stories, helped by the warmth and intimacy, by the connection that an extraordinary medium like radio manages to create between those who listen and those who speak. In this book you will find stories of love and sport, of parents and children, of care and special encounters, of personal and collective memories, of large and small events, of scars and rebirths, all things that happen while living.”

«They are only – they continue – a small part of the stories collected in the last five years at Radio24 in its programs, which have changed names and themes, up to the current formula of “Matteo Caccia tells” which tries to squeeze out of every life story it receives and tells a small drop of philosophy, in an attempt to make every private and personal story even more universal.”

The author underlines: «The stories came to me like the howls of those wolves who respond to other howls in the valleys, telling who knows what. My first program “made of the stories of you listeners” was born like this, howling in the dark, in the hope of receiving a response from the other side of the valley. The answers came in ever more numerous, ever more full of life.”

Matteo Caccia is author and presenter. He collects, writes and tells stories on the radio, in podcasts and live. For Radio24 he wrote and hosted VendoTutto, Io sono qui, Voi sei qui and now it is on air with Matteo Caccia he tells. For Radio2 he wrote and hosted Amnèsia, Una Vita and Pascal. He wrote Amnèsia, Our fire is the only light, Silence covered its tracks and Voices that are mine. He is the author and voice of the podcasts La Piena, Oltre il confine, L’isola di Matteo, Il mondo massimo (winner of the IlPod award for best documentary) and Wild Baricco. He is responsible for the podcast section of IlPost. In addition to radio and writing, he was also a sailing instructor at the Caprera Sailing Center for a period. Wednesday’s meeting is free, subject to availability.
