The tenth edition of “Books in the Park” is back, see you tomorrow at 6.30 pm, again in the Municipal Court. On this occasion, Pietro Vitelli will dialogue with Leone D’Ambrosio and present the book “Sveva Caetani di Sermoneta and Dante Alighieri”.
The book: “Sveva Caetani di Sermoneta, Roman by birth, daughter of Leone Caetani, 15th Duke of Sermoneta, has lived in Canada for almost her entire life. She is little known in Italy, despite her belonging to a historic, famous House and despite her very high profile in the field of figurative art, her strong personality as an innovative educator, the vastness of her culture and her philosophical and scientific knowledge, which also allowed her to speak with scientists such as Einstein and Hawking.
His major work is Recapitulationa cycle of fifty-six watercolors completely intertwined with the Comedy by Dante Alighieri and supported by its own architecture, being also an imaginary journey of the soul, made on Earth rather than in some unknown part of the universe, like the journey born from Dante’s powerful poetic imagination. A pictorial masterpiece that helps us to know who we are and to reflect in a strong and positive way on the origin and destiny of humanity and of the individual people who compose it, women and men, on space and time, mysterious and connected. This book tells of the connection between Sveva and Dante, two great Italian artists divided by seven centuries of history yet closely linked by a singular creative energy.”
