Return to Lake Iseo «Books on the lake festival»a review of stories and places organized by the Scenari cultural association and La Libreria del Lago di Sarnico with the support and collaboration of the Municipalities and Libraries of Credaro, Villongo, Predore, Sarnico, Paratico, Iseo, Lovere and Mondadori Lovere, and the patronage of Visit Lake Iseo.

After last year’s success with over 1200 spectators, the festival for its third edition hosts 7 well-known authors of contemporary Italian fiction, with their latest books and an 8th, as moderator. This year too the festival will take place in some of the most beautiful places on Lake Iseo and will tell very different stories, from detective stories to romance, from family stories to adventure, also touching on intimate and reflective themes.

The first appointment on the calendar will be Tuesday 28 May to Believe me with the writer

Roberta Recchia and his debut book, which became an international publishing case, Tutta la vita che resta (Rizzoli), a very sweet, painful, welcoming, intimate and choral novel, which explores the mechanisms of shame and mourning, but above all of affection and care , and brings them out with skilful delicacy (8.30 pm Church of San Giorgio).

Saturday 8 June in Predore Stefania Auci will talk about The Lions of Sicily, the bestseller from which the series of the same name directed by Paolo Genovese was based, and the latest novel The Winter of the Lions, winner of the 2022 Bancarella Prize, which tell the saga of the Florio family (8.30 pm, Auditorium Civico, with the support of ItalianOptic).

Saturday 29 Juneno in Paratico Rokia will present Guilty: drunk in love (Magazzini Salani), the story of a desperate girl and a prince from a parallel universe dealing with a curse (6.30 pm, Parco delle Erbe Dancing).

Tuesday 2 July in Villongo Alice Basso will tell A Black Party (Garzanti), a book that closes the series of ‘ironic, rather than historical, detective stories, set in Turin in the 1930s, with the typist Anita Bo as the protagonist, even more courageous and reckless in this novel (8.30pm , Municipal building).

Friday 12 July in Sarnico will be Aurora Tamigio’s turn with his debut novel The Last Name of Women (Feltrinelli Narrators), winner of the 2024 Bancarella Selection Award. A family story that traces the twentieth century, placing women, their resilience and priceless legacy at the center of the narrative (8.30 pm, Parco Stella Maris).

Saturday 3 August in Lovere Ade Zenoin dialogue with the writer Raul Montanari, will present The Holy Monsters (Bollati Boringhieri 2024), an adventurous and melancholy novel, poised between reality and wonder, which through the language of the grotesque fairy tale revisits the figure of the freak to talk once again about the monster that lives in each of us (8.30 pm, Piazza Tredici Martiri).

Friday 6 September in Iseo, to close Libri sul Lago Festival, he will be there Elena Molini owner of the Piccola Farmacia Letteraria in Florence (where he suggests readers the right book to read based on their moods) with The Second Occasions Shop (Mondadori), a novel that talks about hope and beautiful rebirths, out in June (8.30pm, Castello Oldofredi).
