Last Tuesday 26 March at the exhibition space in the ancient residence Casa Campia in Revòwith the patronage of Municipality of Novellawas inaugurated the exhibition “Light in art – Klimt and Segantini” with pictorial works created by the students of the third classes A and B of the Istituto Comprensivo di Fondo e Revòedited by Professor Lucina Cuccio.

The presentation took place in a bubbly atmosphere, with the rooms packed with students, professors and local authorities gathered to attend the event.

The 34 works exhibited they were created by ‘apprentice artists’ with mixed techniques of acrylic and oil. The installation in Casa Campia gave the exhibition a touch of prestige, surrounding it with a pinch of magic, so dear to the curator Lucina Cuccio who recently presented his book ‘Assareto and the wax mirrors’, a novel full of magic and mystery. Professor Cuccio welcomed the guests by explaining the pairing she had chosen: “In September I gave the kids the task of reproducing a work by two great masters, Klimt and Segantini, because it’s like putting water and oil together. These two artists have one thing in common: light. Segantini exalts it through painting, Klimt through metal, thus creating a perfect artistic and graphic combination, and this is the meaning of the exhibition. Sometimes the kids told me: “Prof., it’s very difficult, I’ll never make it, I’ll give up”, then I told them not to give up, and in the end when they delivered the works they were all happy and satisfied. I taught them not to give up, because in life they will encounter a thousand difficulties, which could be a university exam or a competition. This is it for me the most important lesson: never give up“.

Some interventions followed from the Mayor of the Municipality of Novella Donato Pretifrom the Director of the Istituto Comprensivo Fondo-Revò Roberta Gambaro he was born in Senator Franco Panizzawhich encouraged the kids not to just paint copies, but to have fun and let their imaginations run wild.

Representing the students they spoke two studentswho faced the task assigned to them by Professor Cuccio at the beginning with desperation and frustration, but which then turned out to be pleasant and satisfying, to the point that some ‘canvases’ have already had several purchase requests, as happened in recent years when some former students have made ‘author’s copies’ a real profession.
