MENFI. Fourth and final appointment with ArcheoAprile, meetings between archeology and history of ancient Sicily organized by the “Federico II” Cultural Institution of Menfi.
Saturday 27 April, at 6.00 pm, the archaeologist Martine Fourmont, of the National Center for Scientific Research – Institute for Research on Ancient Architecture of Paris, chief editor of the “Revue Archéologique”, member of the “French Society of Classical Archaeology” of Paris and former professor at the University of Paris I and at the University of Amiens – Picardy, he will report on “Metopes carved among the ruins of the temples of Selinunte” discovered in 1823 by the English architects Harris and Angell.
The meeting will be attended by professors Giuseppe L. Bonanno, Sabina Curseri and Erasmo Miceli, translators and editors of the book of the same name by Harris and Angell which narrates the important discovery.
