They have passed now more than two months since March 19, the day when Eivind Sporaland – promise of Norwegian biathlon – disappeared without trace, driving away from his home in Lillehammer. The 22-year-old no longer has his own with him smartphoneswho was found in recent weeks by the investigators during their investigative activity, but his parents continue to keep the flame of hope burning.

“We have no other choice – they asserted in the columns of the newspaper ‘Gudbrandsdolen Dagningen’ –. Until the incident is cleared up, let’s pray he’s still alive. Eivind is used to the outdoors, in nature, and we think it may have come a long way. We hope people pay attention and tell the authorities about any encounters with him. We just want to find our son”.

In a previous interview, Eivind Sporaland’s mother and father revealed who the biathlete was suffering from mental problems, however, which arose only a few days before his disappearance: “They came out of nowhere and it was a shock. It’s brutal and painful to think about”.

A reconstruction that seems to be going well, even more so if we consider that before disappearing Eivind Sporaland ahe had regularly taken part in a biathlon competition at Stryn. Then, on March 15, during an evening out with some friends following a written exam taken at the university, the boy would start behaving differently than usual.

Twenty-four hours before the disappearance, the Norwegian’s roommate, Eirik Idland, and his cousin Martin Nevland had decided to take him to the hospitalwhere Eivind spoke at length with a doctor: We don’t know what the conversation was aboutbut we were told to wait until the following weekend”Idland reported.

In the meantime, Sporaland’s father joined his son in Lillehammer in the middle of the night, talking to him all the time: “We came up with a plan and I got the feeling that Eivind agreed. I have no experience with mental problems. I thought my presence would give him confidence”.

Now, too his friends cross their fingers and maintain a modicum of trust: “We still believe that this story could end well. Until it is over, we will have hope”.
