Netanyahu to Ben Gvir, peace agreement “is not irresponsible”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has invited National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir to a meeting following his threat to bring down the government over the new proposed hostage release and ceasefire agreement. Netanyahu – according to the Israel Hayom newspaper, which cites sources from the prime minister’s office – intends to show him the draft of the proposal which was made public by US President Joe Biden on Friday. According to this source, the draft does not contain a clause obliging Israel to end the fighting. Netanyahu intends to demonstrate to the minister that this is not an “irresponsible agreement”. Ben Gvir and fellow minister Bezalel Smotrich have said they will leave the coalition if the deal goes ahead. The ‘Times of Israel’ reports it.
