The Ukrainian army announced that it had been forced to retreat in some areas of the northern front, in the Kharkiv region, where Russia launched a new offensive last Friday. “In some areas, near Lukiantsi and Vovchansk, in response to enemy fire and infantry assault, our units maneuvered to more favorable positions to save the lives of our soldiers and avoid casualties,” the General Staff announced Ukrainian on social networks. As reported by the Independent, the Kiev Security Council has announced that up to 30,000 soldiers are involved in attacks by the Russian army in the Kharkiv region.
Ukraine launched a massive airstrike on the port city of Sevastopol last nightin occupied Crimea, and over several Russian regions: this was announced by the Moscow Ministry of Defense, as reported by Tass. In addition to Crimea, the operation affected the Belgorod, Kursk and Bryansk regions and also involved the Atacms long-range precision guided missiles supplied by the US. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, 10 Atacms were shot down on the territory of Crimea and the attack was largely “thwarted”.
