He thought it was a wounded hedgehog, instead it was just a wool pom poms. The story of this woman who found a pom pom on the pavement and, believing it to be a baby hedgehog in difficulty, she quickly rescued it is going around the world. She took him home with her, cuddling him and trying to keep him warm during the night, waiting to go straight to the vet the next morning.
The woman, although noticing that the “hedgehog” was a little lighter and fluffier than normal, did not suspect anything until the next morning, when she took him to the Lower Moss Wood Nature Reserve & Wildlife Hospital clinic in Knutsford, Cheshire, United Kingdom. It was thus that she made the incredible discovery. The director of the clinic, Janet Kotze, immediately noticed the anomaly: “EIt was so light and soft that I immediately knew it wasn’t a hedgehog“, she explained in an interview with the BBC. Examining it more closely, she realized that it was a simple wool pom pom, one of those found on hats.
When the woman discovered the truth, she was very embarrassed: “She apologized and left very quickly,” Kotze continued. But his concern for the “hedgehog” still made everyone smile. Yes, because despite the mistake, the woman’s gesture still remains a masterful example of how one should behave when she comes across a soul in difficulty.
