Daria Bignardi talks about herself on the Tintoria podcast, retracing her career and talking about the commitments that have marked her the most. From hers to Big Brother, up to the direction of Rai3: “It was a mistake, accepted after the illness”.

Daria Bignardi she was the face of the first editions of Big Brother. Years in which the reality show irreversibly changed the paradigms of television, representing the last true revolution of this means of communication. However, the writer and presenter managed to escape the heavy label of Big Brother, deciding to leave the project and probably realizing that the program would change a lot over the years.

The renunciation of the GF

In the ironic and light-hearted setting of the Tintoria podcast Daria Bignardi told this very anecdote, explaining how she managed to avoid hosting a third edition of the program: I had a contract for three years, after the second GF I got pregnant so as not to have the third“. Bignardi also spoke about Taricone, symbol of that first edition of Big Brother and who died less than ten years later in a parachute accident: there was a particular understanding with Pietro Tariconehe was a bit of a special boy.”

The years as director of Rai3: “Madness, I accepted after the illness”

After Big Brother came several programs, including Le Invasioni Barbariche, but also the direction of Rai3. An experience that Bignardi remembers in a very negative way:

Nikita Pelizon: “Ended up on the black list after Big Brother, I didn’t expect us to no longer be invited”

Being the director of Rai3 was perhaps the only truly big mistake of my life. I agreed to do it because it was a particular moment, I had fallen ill – a serious illness – I had undergone 4 cycles of chemotherapy. The proposal came to me: when you come out of something like this you need not to think about it… and then I accepted this madness of being the director of Rai3″.

Then he adds: “For goodness sake, I have also done good things at Rai3, for example Sono Innocente, a program on judicial errors, or Civil Status, on homosexual marriages. The people who worked at Rai3 were very good, I made a lot of friends. But it really wasn’t my role. I’m an author, but there it’s another job. To work in Rai you must have the antibodies. Was it a position of power? Ugly! I really don’t feel good about it, it’s not mine, I really struggled a lot (…) In the end I resigned, giving up the money.”
