Nicholas Coughlan responded to comments from haters who are convinced that in the series Bridgerton have digitally modified his physique.
The differences that some viewers have noticed are in fact only the result of the corsets used during the filming of three seasons of the Shondaland show.
Penelope’s interpreter declared:
If you wear corsets long enough, your body really adapts. Sometimes I do fittings for a designer and they make me wear a corset and I think, ‘Oh, you can tighten it up more.’ And they say to me: ‘What do you mean?’. And I’m like, ‘My body’s going to go now, whew.’
Nicola added:
I saw some trolls. They said, ‘They photoshopped your life.’ And I said, ‘No, they didn’t.’
Coughlan has had to deal with comments about his physique several times. During a Q & A that took place in Dublin, the actress responded to those who had commented that she had been very courageous in carrying out nude scenes in the series by declaring:
Women with my body, women with perfect breasts, we don’t see enough of them on screen. And I’m really proud as a member of the perfect breast community. We don’t have enough chances to see ourselves on screen.
Nicola, a few months ago, underlined that she had asked to include some nude scenes in the series in response to all the haters and unsolicited comments on her body.
