Del Debbio, however, recalls that children cannot be repudiated once their mother or father has been ascertained: “Civil law here prevails over any religious law, whatever it may be. It gets boring repeating these things because they are basic. We should take them for granted in a discussion about it, but no, we find ourselves having to discuss precisely this.
