Pino Insegno returns tonight with ‘Chain Reaction’, social media divided

“Whoever watches him is not anti-fascist”, “What does political preferences have to do with it? I love him because he is very good”. Pino Insegno returns tonight at 6.45pm on Rai1 at the helm of ‘Reazione a Catena’, and it certainly cannot be said that the debut leaves the Italian public indifferent. The host’s return in fact splits the web between detractors and fans, and it is above all politics that acts as a watershed on whether or not the actor and voice actor is liked. A leitmotif is widespread: “Whoever watches it is not anti-fascist”, write several users. The clear reference is to the alleged political sympathies of the actor, who is credited with a close friendship with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and a preference for the right-wing area.

There are therefore many posts in which it is declared, at least in words, that they want to avoid seeing Insegno’s debut, who had already hosted the game show from 2010 to 2013, then replaced by Amadeus until 2017 (the last five editions were instead hosted by Marco Liorni). “From today Pino Insegno, Giorgia’s friend, is back, I have already uninstalled Rai1, so unfortunately I don’t even see him”, writes a user. “Boycott Chain Reaction and Pino Insegno! Meritocracy must always win!”, writes another.

But it is the social network of the host’s fans is also large, making their voice heard and rising up to protect the new debut on TV. “Those who call themselves democrats and anti-fascists suck! You don’t judge an artist based on their political orientation”, someone says. “All Pino Insegno’s detractors can just go and do their own thing! It’s about time he went back to hosting Chain Reaction! He was taken away from hosting unfairly, no one knows why. Finally he will return to being entertaining, after several soporific editions “, says another bluntly. Common sense then, as always, comes to save the world: “Before judging I will wait to watch at least the first episode. Not like many here who judge it first”, comments a wiser user.
