“We are thrilled to be able to tell this story to its epic conclusion,” the showrunners said David Benioff, Dan Weiss And Alexander Woo in a statement. “Ever since we read the last page of Cixin Liu’s magnificent trilogy, we have hoped to be able to take the audience with us to the end of the universe. It is not yet known exactly how many episodes they will have available to bring the story to a conclusion (in the past they had declared that they had a story of four seasons in mind, but it is clear that they will instead have to condense the events). In any case, Benioff and Weiss remain in business with Netflix, given that they have renewed the agreement that binds them to the video streaming service and are currently working on a new series, Death by Lightning. Same thing for Alexander Woo, also linked to the streamer by an agreement.
