Excellent weekend at the Italian box office, mainly thanks to Inside Out 2, which captured more than 80% of the takings. And this despite the summer now underway and the European football championships, a sign that the Pixar film has a truly remarkable impact.
In the four days from Thursday to Sunday it collected another 6.7 million euros, just under half of what it did last week. It is absolutely one of the best results ever in a second weekend, which (also thanks to the excellent midweek) allowed the film to reach 29.8 million euros (Sunday it collected 2.1 million). It is the best gross ever for an animated film in Italy, and today Inside Out 2 will reach the 30 million euro milestone in just 14 days, just like Avatar: only Zalone’s films have done better.
The ranking continues with the debut of A Quiet Place: Day 1which at a safe distance grosses 411 thousand euros, in line with the debuts of the two previous films. Third position for Bad Boys: Ride or Die, which grossed 190 thousand euros in four days and rose to 1.9 million euros. Opens in fourth place Hit Manwith only 154 thousand euros (remember that the film was postponed until the last month), while The Bikeriders closes the top-five with 70 thousand euros and a total of 475 thousand euros.
Among other debuts, sixth place Jatt & Juliet 3 grosses 45 thousand euros, an interesting figure for a Bollywood production, while in ninth place Shoshanna collects 27 thousand euros.
