On Saturday, a piece of the cornice of a balcony broke off and collapsed right in front of the entrance to a restaurant in Via Partenope, on the Lungomare di Napoli. Some fragments landed on people who were sitting outside eating, but beyond a great scare, fortunately, no injuries were reported. Some of those present reported the incident to deputy Francesco Emilio Borrelli.

“A tragedy was almost achieved, probably due to negligence and poor maintenance. There were many families in the restaurant, as reported by some witnesses, and the fragments could have hit a child. Deterioration cannot put the safety of citizens at risk. It is necessary to force private individuals to secure buildings, especially in the areas that overlook public roads and commercial activities, where the danger is undoubtedly greater. There have already been too many victims of similar accidents and we must ensure that similar tragedies do not happen again”. This is what was stated by Francesco Emilio Borrelli, deputy of Alleanza Verdi – Sinistra, Gianni Caselli and Lorenzo Pascucci, councilors of Municipality I of Europa Verde.
