This Monday’s is a story of salvation. A story for which one could easily have foreseen a tragic epilogue, but instead, thanks to a prompt synergy of rescue and assistance; it had a happy ending. It is the story of little Avena: a medium-sized adult cat of the common European breed, with a soft milky white coat and large green eyes; framed by a “mask” of beige tabby fur that makes her unique, with a single spot on her left side that is reddish-brown just like her tail. With a curious but above all affectionate nature, Avena loves cuddles and the company of both human friends and other felines: she likes to play with both and give tender displays of affection. To everyone, no one excluded. And perhaps, nature aside, this is her special way of thanking the human being who picked her up on the asphalt that day and brought her to safety; and also to reciprocate the welcome to the many feline friends she found when she opened her eyes again. Avena was the victim of a serious road accident and, after immediate rescue and veterinary care, at the end of March she was taken to the La Spezia cattery to spend a long period of hospitalization at the end of which her jaw also returned to its place while the lack of control of her needs remains, which leads her to have to be cared for to avoid possible infections. Therefore, Avena is now ready to move from the loving care of the volunteers of the “L’Impronta” association to that of a new family just for her.
