Velletri mourning the death of the master goldsmith Sergio Lucci

The community of Velletri has been hit in recent hours by the news of the passing of maestro Sergio Lucci, which occurred late in the evening of yesterday 29 June, the day on which he decided to close his business to enjoy his well-deserved retirement. Appreciated and esteemed goldsmith and jeweler, he was a point of reference with his “workshop” at number 141 Corso della Repubblica, a few steps from the Torre del Trivio and Piazza Cairoli.

His was one of those historic activities in which generations of veliterni were “served”, his creations were worn by numerous brides to embellish the most beautiful day. He will be missed for his availability for every stimulus and collaboration in favor of the territory, as far as he was able he always collaborated to the success of many events.

With Sergio, the city of Velletri loses another point of reference in the urban fabric of the historic center, increasingly poor in those figures who could tell its story and contribute to its future.

His goldsmith’s shop was not just a place to buy jewellery, but a real meeting and reference center for the community. His availability, his smile and his constant collaboration in favor of the territory will be missed. Sergio was always ready to contribute to the success of many events, demonstrating a strong attachment to his city and its people.

The heartfelt memory of Sergio Lucci was dedicated by the Luigi Magni and Lucia Mirisola Foundation, with the following words: “Our condolences to Sergio’s family. We are not just losing a teacher, but a friend with whom it was a pleasure to have a chat, dreaming as always of a better Velletri. WE’LL MISS HIM'”.

The memory of Sergio Lucci will live on in his creations, in the memories of his customers and friends, and in the history of the city of Velletri, which today rallies around his family in this moment of great pain.

Our editorial staff’s most sincere condolences go to his family and to all who loved him.

Sergio Lucci
