The community of Favara gave the first heartbreaking farewell to Salvatore Vetro, the first victim of the dramatic road accident in the night between Saturday and Sunday, along the Viale delle Dune in San Leone. In the Mother Church, many young people accompanied the unfortunate twenty-year-old, in front of that altar that in recent years has also welcomed the coffins of other young victims of road accidents. The largest church in Favara was not enough to contain all the people present. About a hundred were those who, in silence, followed the funeral from outside. A long round of applause and the release of white balloons were the tribute reserved for yet another life interrupted too soon: the Favara community that tomorrow, Tuesday 2 July, at 3:30 pm will meet in the same church for the funeral of Salvatore Barba, the second victim of the accident with an entire city that continues to pray and hope for the fate of the other two seriously injured young people.

It is enough to take a tour of the beaches of our province to find so much disorder, so much noise and so many young people at a very young age who behave like adults and who by forging ahead – concludes Don Calogero – can burn their lives”.
