GALLIPOLI – A new appointment in Gallipoli with the prestigious Campiello Prize, founded in 1962 by Confindustria Veneto, with its finalists who will meet the public in Piazza Tellini on 8 July.

The objective of the event is to promote culture and reading in line with the action undertaken by the institution’s Culture Department. This is in fact, once again, the message that the municipal administration of Gallipoli is carrying forward with the determined push of Stefano Minerva, mayor who has always been oriented towards enhancing his land also through cultural initiatives.

“We continue to follow the path of cultural policy with initiatives aimed at enhancing culture in all its aspects – underlines the mayor – for Gallipoli it is an honor to bring, for the second time, the prestigious Campiello Prize to the main square of the city. The meeting with the finalists, which includes prestigious names of the Italian literary scene, represents an important opportunity for the public, to be able to compare and to be able to make Gallipoli an important cultural center. While waiting for July 8, my invitation is to take part in the event”.

The Campiello Prize, a historic literary event that every year brings to the fore interesting realities inserted in the context of narrative and which for the second time will stop in Gallipoli, includes among the finalists: Antonio Franchini, with “The fire that you carry inside” (Marsilio), Federica Manzon, with “Alma” (Giangiacomo Feltrinelli), Michele Mari, with “Locus Desperatus” (Giulio Einaudi publisher), Vanni Santoni, with “Dilaga ovunque” (Laterza), Emanuele Trevi, with “La casa del Mago” (Ponte alle Grazie).

The five authors admitted to the final will be engaged in a literary tour in various Italian locations including Cortina, Milan, Turin and Udine at the end of which, on Saturday 21 September, the winner will be proclaimed at the “Gran Teatro La Fenice”. The following will participate in the meeting in the square, moderated by Margherita Macrì,: Federica Manzon, Antonio Franchini and Vanni Santoni.
