The Provincial Health Authority of Crotone has organized a meeting, scheduled for Thursday 4 July at 5:00 p.m., in the council chamber of the Municipality, to discuss, together with a delegation from the Departments of Health Protection and Agriculture of the Calabria Region, representatives of ARA Calabria and farmers from the province of Crotone, the issues relating to the damage caused by the spread of bovine tuberculosis and the solutions to be adopted.

The Asp Pythagorean, led by the Extraordinary Commissioner Antonio Brambilla, given the importance of the issues to be addressed, has invited the Mayors of the entire province of Crotone to take part in the meeting. A meeting that is part of the actions announced by the Calabria Region in support of Calabrian breeders, not only to protect the territory’s identity breeds in danger of extinction, but also through support for breeders damaged by the spread of the epizootic.

Specifically, the Provincial Health Authority of Crotone has prepared, in agreement with the regional Agriculture and Health departments, an extraordinary plan for 2024 and 2025 aimed at combating the spread of bovine tuberculosis and containing the damage caused to the livestock sector and the production of meat, milk and derivatives.

With the help of industry professionals and the adoption of specific measures, we will work to ensure that breeders receive fair compensation for the animals slaughtered and the economic losses suffered.
