The result is now being examined by the Guinness world record commission for the tenth title of the multiple champion from Senigallia

SENIGALLIA – 43 hours, 33 minutes and 13 seconds: this is the total skating time with which the multiple world champion Mauro Guenci won his latest challenge against himself and not only: covering 1,200 km of what will be the Ciclovia Adriatica, the most Europe’s longest and fascinating cycle route.

The already 9 times Guinness World Record, never ceases to amaze us and keep us in suspense.

Having thrown down the gauntlet of the challenge, after 8 long and intense months of athletic, medical and nutritional preparation, Mauro left on Saturday 15 June at 9:00 am from Piazza Unità D’Italia in Trieste.

Despite the great experience and intense training, there were many difficulties to face.

The cycle path has not yet been completed, and our athlete had to face an alternation of different routes: from the easiest cycle paths, to bumpy roads, including sections with heavy traffic at high speed. To increase the difficulty, there were also sections of road with strong adverse winds, scorching sun and temperatures above 40 degrees.

However, all this did not in the least dampen Mauro’s spirit and determination, who pushed himself ever further, ever more fearless, strong both in the fundamental support of his travel companions who guaranteed decisive assistance and help, and in the great message he brought.

Mauro Guenci, the athlete of records and challenges at the limits of human possibilities, actually takes the field himself, demonstrating great strength of mind and passion, to teach all of us and the younger ones that sport, passion, determination, willpower can overcome any obstacle placed in front of our lives, bringing happiness and fun, and that nothing is impossible until it is considered so.

Here is therefore the great appeal for which Guenci is the spokesperson in front of the institutions: a loud request for the arrangement and completion of the works of the Adriatic Cycle Route, a unique route of its kind, of great beauty and value for Italy and the whole of Europe, which crosses the entire Adriatic coast, full of glimpses of the sea, wonderful landscapes and traditions.

An eighth wonder that would enrich our national heritage, capable of attracting tourists and athletes from all over the world.

The challenge ended well ahead of schedule on June 24th, with the arrival at Km 0 in Santa Maria di Leuca at 6.30 pm, where the athlete was welcomed and celebrated by representatives of the local institutions, friends and fans.

It was an exciting journey, a difficult test, a continuous discovery. And the arrival at the finish line did not mark the end of a race, but the beginning of a new era: the relaunch of Italian splendor after a life dedicated to the entire world.
