Head-on collision between a motorbike and a car, road closed
The two motorcyclists are in code red
OGGIONO – The two motorcyclists involved were transported to the hospital with red code (serious conditions) in a bad accident that occurred around 6pm on Friday along Provincial Road 51 in Oggiono.
The exact dynamics of the accident must be clarified and will have to be reconstructed by the police arriving at the scene. Based on what we have learned it seems that the motorbike collided head-on with a car traveling towards Dolzago.
The two motorcyclists fared the worst, being thrown violently to the ground. Three ambulances, the medical car and the helicopter rescue from Bergamo were brought to the scene in red code. One of the injured was transported to San Gerardo in Monza by helicopter ambulance, the other motorcyclist instead to Manzoni in Lecco. The driver was unharmed but understandably in shock and was treated on site by medical personnel. The Fire Department was also present.
To allow for rescue operations and necessary investigations, the stretch of road was closed to traffic.
