Sigourney Weaver will receive the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at Venice 81

American actress Sigourney Weaver will receive the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement during the’81st Venice Film Festivalwhich will be held from 28 August to 7 September 2024. His has been a career full of important roles, he has in fact worked with directors of the caliber of Woody Allen, Ridley Scott, James Cameron and many others.

The award was decided by the Board of Directors of the Biennale, chaired by Pietrangelo Buttafuoco, who supported the proposal of the director of the Exhibition, Alberto Barbera. The roles for which she became famous are first and foremost the small part in Me and Annie by Woody Allen, his performance in Avatar by Cameron, but especially the one in Alien by Scott, as well as having been the protagonist of the entire saga of Ghostbusters. The actress has also already commented on the award, appearing enthusiastic and saying:
