There are updates on the causes of death of Shifty Shellshockthe leader of the Crazy Townwhich was found on Monday 24 June lifeless in his home at the age of 49. According to the official report from the Los Angeles coroner’s office, in fact, the musician died due to aaccidental drug overdose. “Seth has long struggled with substance abuse issues,” Howie Hubberman, the musician’s representative, said in a statement. “Seth was dissatisfied with the daily challenges of life. People deal with these situations in very different ways. It’s sad that so many lives are lost to addiction and access to dangerous drugs. Shifty’s story is a real tragedy: too fast, too hard, too soon.”
CAREER AND THE FIGHT AGAINST ADDICTIONS
Shifty Shellshock, stage name of Seth Binzer, began his career in the Los Angeles rap rock scene in 1995 together with Bret “Epic” Mazur and Adam Bravin under the name The Brimstone Sluggers. They then founded Crazy Town, which debuted in 1999 with The Gift of Game. The group is best known for the single Butterflyreleased in 2000, reached number one on the Billboard charts in the United States and became a hit all over the world. “A simple song that for some reason everyone likes,” Shellshock said. The musician had also publicly addressed his problems with substance addiction, also participating between 2007 and 2010 in the reality show Celebrity Rehab hosted by Dr. Drew Pinsky of the Pasadena Recovery Center and two seasons of the spin-off Sober House.
