Today, June 28, at the Catanzaro Police Headquarters, an important meeting was held between a delegation of Confcommercio Calabria Centrale and the Police Commissioner Paolo Sirna. The delegation, composed of President Pietro Falbo, Director Giovanni Ferrarelli, President of SILB (Italian Association of Dance and Entertainment Companies) Rodolfo Rotundo and President of FIPE (Italian Federation of Public Establishments) Mirea Rotundo, discussed with the Police Commissioner several crucial issues for the commerce and entertainment sector.

Police Chief Sirna expressed a clear willingness to collaborate with trade associations, underlining the importance of an open and constructive dialogue to ensure that operators in the sector are adequately prepared for checks. In this context, the need to combat illegal activity with a sufficient number of forces in the field was reiterated, to protect operators who comply with the regulations.

During the meeting, the Police Commissioner wanted to clarify that the activity of the Police Headquarters does not aim to clash with the needs of economic operators, but in favor of legality. Compliance with the rules is essential not only to avoid sanctions, but also to guarantee the safety of commercial activities and customers. Among the issues discussed, a central point was the phenomenon of vending machines for drinks, including alcoholic ones, which risk circumventing the regulations on the sale of alcohol to minors, especially when the serving of alcohol is prohibited in dance clubs.

Problems related to nightlife were another important issue. Operators in the sector often have to deal with abusive situations, in which some do not respect the regulations, creating unfair competition and putting public safety at risk. In particular, illegal construction in public entertainment venues and the occupation of public land without authorization were discussed, with services that do not comply with safety standards.

Police Commissioner Sirna assured the police headquarters of its full availability to combat irregularities and support operators who operate in compliance with the rules. This common commitment between institutions and trade associations is essential to create a healthy and safe economic environment, in which legality and security are the cornerstones.

Today’s meeting was an important step towards greater collaboration between the Catanzaro Police Headquarters and Confcommercio Calabria Centrale. Open dialogue and sharing common goals are essential tools to address the challenges of the sector and ensure a regular and safe working environment for all operators.
