Acqua S.Bernardo Pallacanestro Cantù announces that it has signed a two-year agreement with the athlete Joonas Riismaa.

Joonas Riismaa is a 196 cm, 90 kg small forward. Born on March 6, 2002 in Märjamaa, Estonia, he acquired the status of an Italian-trained player thanks to a path in the youth teams of Siena and Pistoia. Riismaa is able to cover multiple roles on the outside, making the most of an excellent shooting mechanic and a strong athleticism, which makes him particularly dangerous also on the rebound.

THE CARREER
At 14, he left Estonia to continue his basketball education in the youth teams of Mens Sana Siena. After two years, he moved to Pistoia. With the red and whites, he began to measure himself with the double commitment between Under 18 and Serie C Gold. Starting from the 2020-21 championship, he definitively became part of the first team roster. Already in the first season in A2, he earned over 20 minutes on average, managing to produce 6.5 points per game. The following year, trained by coach Brienza, he grew to exceed double figures on average. Then came the call from Brindisi, which made him debut in Serie A. In the two seasons in Puglia, he continued his growth path thanks to an average use of over 10 minutes.
Riismaa, after a journey in the youth national teams, also made his debut with the Estonia senior national team in 2022, also participating in the 2023 World Cup qualifiers.
