Markise Outing, a 24-year-old Florida man, was arrested for the death of the little girl and faces charges of aggravated manslaughter. He initially said she developed a fever after “playing outside all day.” An autopsy later determined that the child was killed by extreme heat.

A 6-year-old American girl has died after being left for three hours “locked in her mother’s boyfriend’s car” while “I went to work.” That day the outside temperature in the area of Bradentonin Manatee County, Florida, was about 31°. Markise Outing24 years old, was arrested on June 25 and charged with aggravated manslaughter.
The events occurred on the afternoon of May 20. According to the County Sheriff’s Office Southern Manateethe man would have turned to the fire fighters around 5:17 p.m. seeking medical attention for the little girl. Paramedics rushed to the scene where they found the little girl unconscious: she was not breathing and her body temperature exceeded 41°. They hypothesized that she might have suffered cardiac arrest, so they tried in every way to revive her. She died after a few hours.
When the police asked him why the little girl had such a high fever, the 24-year-old replied that that day he had played out in a park and it was “overheated“But officers quickly realized his story was full of inconsistencies, and GPS data later collected by investigators suggested the little girl had been left inside a parked vehicle for several hours.

It has been reconstructed that Outing had gone to pick up the very young girl at school around 2.45pm, before going to his work place in Bradenton. He would have left it inside his locked car con i windows closed all the time.
L’autopsy he later ascertained that the little girl was killed by the extreme heat. Investigators are still waiting for the results of a toxicology report.
