A conference to remember Manara
Two events scheduled: Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June
BARZANO’ – On the occasion of the celebrations for 175th anniversary of the death of Luciano Manarawhich occurred during the defense of the Roman Republic on 30 June 1849, whose tomb is located in Barzanò together with the ancient family summer residence, the Municipality of Barzanò organizes a conference to highlight and enhance the contribution given by Manara, the Paladini family and General Sirtori both to the Five Days of Milan and to the Risorgimento of Italy. The conference entitled “Risorgimento: Italy has awakened” It will take place Saturday 29 June at 5pm at the Barzanò primary school (Via Leonardo da Vinci number 10).

Instead, Sunday 30 June, the celebrations will continue starting from 10 am with meeting in Piazza Mercato. In case of bad weather, they will be celebrated at the Alpini headquarters in Via Marconi. At 10.15 am the procession is scheduled to depart towards the Tomb of Luciano Manara (Via IV Novembre) and the deposition of the wreath. The route will finally continue towards Villa Manara in Via Garibaldi. The concert with the Bersaglieri “Luciano Manara” fanfare from Milan is scheduled for 11 am.
The Fanfare Manara was founded by Maestro Mario Sironi in 1927, 40 years after the establishment of the Luciano Manara Section, which took place in Milan in 1887. Its activity was interrupted in 1940, due to the start of the world conflict, and was reconstituted at the end of the war. She has achieved a series of successes in all the Bersaglieri rallies and participated in various patriotic celebrations throughout Italy, but she is also known abroad, where she has participated in numerous tours. At the moment it has 22 Fanfaroni, and is directed by Maestro Rocco Clementewhile the leader of the brass band is the Bersagliere Stefano Spina.
