On Monday evening, a 44-year-old from Guardiagrele was involved in a bad accident. While he was in Piazza San Francesco, he was attacked by a young man who kicked and punched him, also causing injuries to his face. After the first beating, the man went to the emergency room of the Santissima Immacolata hospital, where doctors diagnosed injuries that could be healed in a week.
Unfortunately, the violence didn’t end there. The attacker, accompanied by his father, reached the 44-year-old again in the emergency room and beat him again. Investigations into the episode are underway by the police, who are trying to discover the reasons behind this violence and whether there are connections with episodes that occurred in the past.
A witness, visibly shaken by the incident, said that the attack occurred under the eyes of numerous witnesses, including children who had just finished an essay. According to the witness, the attacker was incited by his wife and then supported by his father.
The witness expressed strong indignation for violence and underlined the trauma suffered by the children presenthoping that justice will take its course to prevent similar episodes from occurring in the future.
