If the calm (or almost) of these last few days did not allow smaller boats to race in the waters of the Archipelago-park, the Sanremo-La Maddalena offshore stage of the “Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour – Giro d’Italia Vela 2024” did it is instead carried out regularly before the flat sea.
The winner was the Deas team with Francesco Farci and Arianna Li Conti. Silver medal for the Sanremo Yacht Club, with Maximilian Custer and Federica Monacelli. In 3rd place the Navy, represented on the awards stage by Francesco Linares and Andrea Trani.
The sailing event starts again for a new stage, La Maddalena-Gaeta, where in the next few days the same village that animated the main square of La Maddalena will be set up with sporting, cultural and musical events.
The Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour 2024 will end on 20 July in Venice with the final awards ceremony. They were 3 intense days, those in Maddalena, which saw the celebration of sailing and everything it represents, with its values, sporting and otherwise.
But it was also the occasion for an important announcement made by the CEO of Servizi Difesa, namely that «in the near future» «an offshore sailing school will be opened in La Maddalena, which will bring a sailing tradition back to Italy which has been somewhat lost over time.”
A nice recognition for this island, where the wind is normally at home, and which has a long sailing tradition; just think that it has been home, for several decades, to the CVC, the Caprera Sailing Center, a great sports and life school, at an international level.
