The 2024-2029 council term of Sermoneta began with the inaugural city council meeting, held yesterday evening at the Belvedere. Mayor Giuseppina Giovannoli opened the session with a minute of silence in memory of former administrator Fiore De Santis. During the meeting, councilor Pierluigi Torelli was elected president of the council.

Subsequently, the mayor introduced his council: Nicola Minniti is the deputy mayor and is in charge of the public works and mobility departments; Paola Macera is responsible for Urban Planning, Land Management and Private Construction; Melissa Girardi manages Agricultural Policies, Local Product Promotion, Trade, Crafts and the Weekly Market; Ugo Coluzzi is in charge of Budget, Taxes, Strategic Resources and Heritage; Valentina Cianfriglia is dedicated to Welfare, Personal Services, Support for the Fragile, Social Inclusion, Families, Minors’ Rights, Fighting Discrimination, Social Discomfort, Poverty and District Social Programming.

The delegations to the city councilors were assigned as follows: Pierluigi Torelli deals with Culture, Major Events, Tourism, Territorial Marketing and Public Financing; Mauro Lorenzo Mariotti is responsible for Services, Administrative Decentralization, Sport and Sports Facilities; Vittorio Pacini is delegated for the protection of the environment, green areas, public parks, the protection of the historic centre, urban decoration, maintenance and the waste cycle; Luana Campagna is dedicated to health protection, animal protection policies, equal opportunities and twinning; Roberto Calvani is responsible for territorial security, video surveillance, coordination policies with Civil Protection, ANC and Community, as well as Youth Policies and the Civil Service; finally, Stefania Iacovacci manages Public Education, municipal school services, the right to education, training, the municipal library and school infrastructure.

The mayor concluded his speech by urging the councilors to work together to improve Sermoneta and respond to the community’s expectations with respectful and constructive dialogue.
