Explosion in the night, bar devastated by flames

First the explosion, then the flames. A fire devastated the Dolcè Caffè bar, at the intersection of Noalese and Vicolo Antonio Maragon, in Quinto di Treviso. The fire broke out around 1.30 am on the night between Monday 24th and Tuesday 25th June.

The causes are now being examined by fire brigade technicians, but there seems to be little doubt that the fire was arson. There is a hypothesis of a settling of accounts or a possible revenge against the restaurant, recently opened and managed by a young woman from the area. The investigators are viewing the images recorded by the video surveillance cameras in the area and useful elements could also come from the testimonies of a group of young people present nearby.

At the time of the explosion the place was closed: there were no injuries, even if the explosion in the middle of the night generated a lot of fear among the residents. A local young man was taken to the emergency room suffering from panic following the sudden explosion.

There was extensive damage inside the bar. The fire brigade teams, arriving from Treviso with two fire engines, a tanker and 12 operators, in almost 3 hours of work, managed to contain the flames, avoiding a widespread blaze and structural problems in the building. Suem 118 and the Carabinieri were also on site. The place was seized.
